Capt. Rick is the owner and operator of Priority Charters,LLC. He is a lifelong Rhode Island resident and under the watchful eye of his dad, Rick began his career on the water at 10 years old. Here, he would run his 12-foot wooden skiff around Narragansett Bay catching shellfish and winter flounder. He has worked on some of Point Judith's most respected charter boats, and he has quietly gained the reputation as a professional skipper. Rick acquired his U.S.C.G. 100-ton master's license in 1994. He is the current President of the Rhode Island Party and Charter Boat Association, and he was appointed in 2016 to represent RI on the New England Fishery Management Council. As a PADI certified Dive Instructor, Rick is as comfortable in the water as he is on the bridge or running the cockpit. He has a strong passion for bringing the best fishing experiences to all who fish with him.
Cody is Capt. Rick's son. He has grown up on the Priority Too and he made the transition to 1st mate when his grandfather, Capt. Dick, retired in 2013. Cody is there to set the fishing lines and handle all the fish we catch. He is knowledgeable when speaking about RI’s fishing landscape and if he doesn’t know an answer, he is great at making one up! Keeping the atmosphere in the cockpit light is his specialty. Cody also works on the Warwick Fire Department on Engine Company 1.
Filling in for Cody when he has a day off are Erik and Dane. Capt. Rick and Erik have been best friends for 30 years. As only best friends can, they know what each other is thinking at all times. Erik is as laid back as they come and always keeps his composure, no matter how many fish are flying over the gunwales.
Dane began working with us in 2017 while he completed law school. He is an outdoor enthusiast and always looking to try different methods to catch fish. His desire to catch on lighter tackle have added to our experience that we offer to our clients.
